Chapter 3 of Number the Stars ends with Annemarie stating that she is glad to be an ordinary person who would not be called upon to show courage. As you think back to Chapter 5, do you think she feels the same way? Why or Why not?
No. I think she feels a little different. she had courage because she had to pretend to be Ellen's sis and that the Nazi soildes almost found out that Ellen wasn't their daughter.
I think that she *wishes* she could just not ever be called upon for courage. But she loves Ellen (is a sisterly way) and knows that she has to protect her. I also think that Ellen would do the same thing. They are best friends, after all. --Kara--
No, I don't think she feels exactly the same because she has to stand up for her friend but i do think that it is not scary as standing up for your country like the Resistance Fighters do.
Well, that's tough, but I think she will want to help her friend because of what happend that night! I bet she is now scared of what position her friend is in! Knowing Annemarie, she is kind and has a great heart and she definately try to help her friend!
No, I do not think she feels the same way. She pretended to be Ellen's sister, and took a big risk by yanking the necklace off Ellen's neck.
